Another child abuse case.
Another lie, or threat, or argument.
It's a scary world out there. It was yesterday, it is today, ...it will be tomorrow.
And so we were told it would be:
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy... (John 10:10)
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour...(1 Peter 5:8)
Make no mistake...we are to be watchful for sure. Informed, without a doubt. Cautious and alert.
Because evil never rests.
But, dear friends...our hearts need to.
Our hearts need to rest.
Our minds need to find peace.
Our soul needs to be refreshed.
And no matter how terrible the situations in the world might be, it is Christmas.
A time meant to be filled with:
I know it's hard, but let's take the time to remember the rest of the story....
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:
I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. (Luke 2:8-11)
Do not be afraid...
Good news that will cause great JOY...
A Savior has been born to you, the Messiah, LORD.
Since the beginning of time, those who would seek to destroy God and all His goodness, including His people, have raged.
And every year it seems to escalate, especially near Christmas time.
There is terror and are terrorists in every corner of this world.
But if we dwell only on the fear and sorrow they bring, we risk filling our hearts and minds with so much anger, we don't allow Christ to enter in and bring His peace.
Yes, there is evil surrounding us.
But what are we allowing to dwell WITHIN us?
Stay wary, but maybe...
just for today....
let's just let it be Christmas.
Our hearts need this.
may your day be JOYfilled! ♥~
